A day before the IPL auction, Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dubey presented his ability of batting with five sixes in the Ranji Trophy match of Baroda spinner Swapnil Singh, who got the advantage in the auction.

The 25-year-old player bought the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a huge sum of five crore rupees. Dubey, like Arman Jaffer, Prithvi Shaw, and Sarfaraz Khan, did not boast of schooling, but he performed himself well in the current Ranji season. Left-handed batsman Dubey had taken the attention of the people in the Mumbai Premiere League with five consecutive sixes in experienced spinner Praveen Tambe.

After this, he did not look back and looked back. An official of the Mumbai Cricket Association said that he was quite fat first, but he has done a lot of work on his fitness.

He said Dubey started playing cricket for the age group, but after that, he took a break for personal reasons. Prior to making his debut in Ranji Trophy, he played under-19, under-23 cricket. He is now quite serious towards his cricket.
